Back in 2012, it was announced that Taylor Swift was going to play Joni Mitchell in an upcoming biopic about the artist, Carole King and Carly Simon. However, Mitchell recently revealed that she stopped that from ever happening.

"I squelched that! I said to the producer, 'All you've got is a girl with high cheekbones.' It's just a lot of gossip, you don't have the great scenes," she told the Sunday Times (as reported by NME).

She also added, "There's a lot of nonsense about me in books ... assumptions, assumptions, assumptions."

The film was supposed to be based on Sheila Weller's 'Girls Like Us,' which looked into the impact of Mitchell, King and Simon on music and society. Swift was set to play Joni while Jessica Pare ('Mad Men') and Alison Pill ('The Newsroom') would play Simon and King, respectively.

Unfortunately, it never got past the idea stage. So it looks like we won't be seeing Taylor going all '70s on the silver screen anytime soon.
