Keane to Release Vinyl-Only ‘Upstairs at United’ EP

Keane have recorded acoustic versions of four of their songs for 'Upstairs at United - Vol. 5,' a vinyl-only EP that will be released on Sept. 18 on 453 Music. The four songs were recorded straight to analog tape with no overdubs.

The EP was recorded at the United Record Pressing plant in Nashville, Tenn. Previous participants in the series include the North Mississippi Allstars, JEFF the Brotherhood, Cory Chisel and Brendan Benson. 'Upstairs at United - Vol. 5' will be available through the band's website and United Record Pressing.

Keane is donating their proceeds to aid the Scott Johnson Bursary, a fund to benefit young musicians in schools in Rotherham, U.K. The fund is named after a longtime friend of the band who passed away earlier this year.

Keane's most recent album, 2012's 'Strangeland,' debuted in the Top 10 in more than 20 countries around the world. It was their fifth consecutive No. 1 in England, placing them second only to the Beatles in that category.
