Watch Leon Bridges’ New Music Video for ‘Smooth Sailin’’

Leon Bridges debuted “Smooth Sailin’,” the latest single from his upcoming album, Coming Home, just a few short days ago. Now, it’s joined by a new music video -- watch it above.

The clip features Bridges at its very center, delivering his modern take on crystal-clear, Sam Cooke-indebted soul while accompanied by a backing band and singers. It’s a minimal visual, but it embodies just why the Forth Worth, Texas-hailing singer has captured critical attention as a rising up-and-comer you need to know.

“Smooth Sailin’” is the fifth track to emerge from Coming Home, following the breakout success of its great title track, along with “Better Man,” “Lisa Sawyer” and “River.” The album -- which was produced by White Denim’s Austin Jenkins and Joshua Block -- will arrive in stores on June 23 via Columbia Records. Bridges’ current tour will continue on June 18 in Dallas. Then, he’ll take up a two-night residency in his hometown and make a stop in New York City before venturing overseas for a string of dates.
