Lily Allen Officially Changes Name to Lily Rose Cooper
"Lily Allen" is no more. The singer has officially changed her professional name to Lily Rose Cooper, according to a press release that also confirms her return to the studio to record new music.
Allen, who wed businessman Sam Cooper in June 2011, has decided to issue all of her future work under her married name. The spunky Brit's online persona was way ahead of the curve on this one, as she's been going by the Twitter handle @lilyrosecooper for months now.
The announcement confirmed that Cooper is continuing to work on new material, but without any planned target date for completing the follow-up to 2009's 'It's Not Me, It's You.' The singer said, "It's great to work at my own pace, with no commitments other than to make music. I'm excited to be heading back into the studio." In June, she revealed that she was working with producer Greg Kurstin, but she described those sessions as "throwing s--- at the wall and seeing if anything sticks."
Besides working on her next album, Cooper has kept busy making surprise appearances at concerts, possibly making babies, and getting into a silly Twitter war of words with McDonald's over the fact that the fast food chain isn't selling apple pies at the Olympics. It's nice to see that despite the name change, she's still the same Lily.
