The sound of Boston is becoming increasingly experimental, with Berklee grads pushing the boundaries of rock 'n' roll year after year.

One such group of musicians, Mals Totem, are purveyors of fine falsetto ballads and jazz-chord madness. Think the musicianship of the Mars Volta combined with the pipes of Jeff Buckley.

Their single 'Jigsaw Falling Into Place,' today's free MP3, burns like a Virginia Slim, slow and steady 'til the last few drags, when a mascara-melting axe solo enters the scene.

"'Jigsaw Falling Into Place' is a tribute to one of our favorite artists, Radiohead," guitarist Mike Lostica tells

"We spent hours arranging the song and reinterpreting it as our own, a dedication mirrored by our producer, making it especially dynamic and detailed," he adds.

Mals Totem's new self-titled EP is available now.
