This week's installment of Mandatory Music could almost pass for one from 2009, brimming with new singles that are both mildly expected (a Record Store Day exclusive from Garbage) and completely unexpected (the first new Brand New song in six years). We've also got the first official music from Peter Bjorn and John since 2011 and our initial taste of Ratatat's long-awaited fifth album.

If you can't find anything to get excited about in here, there's something wrong with either your speakers or your brain.
