While everyone semi-patiently waits for the first new Tool album since 2006, it apparently doesn't take quite as much deliberation for frontman Maynard James Keenan to release music with his side project, Puscifer. The band announced they'll drop their third album, Money Shot, in October, and it's worth noting that Puscifer's entire discography has been released in the interim between Tool's 10,000 Days and their upcoming fifth album. (In case you missed it, we also recently ranked all of Tool's albums here.)

"Grand Canyon," the first single from Puscifer's Money Shot, leads off this week's installment of Mandatory Music and it's a doozy. We've also got a new track from the second Wavves album of the year (the first was No Life for Me, their joint LP with Cloud Nothings released earlier this month); a taste of New Order's first album of new material in a decade; another new song from the sixth album by dance-punk revivalists !!! (Chk Chk Chk); and the lead single from Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn's first solo album since 2012.
