We're not really sure why a product that comes free with over 90% of the computers sold in America needs to advertise, but we sure like the commercial that Microsoft made for Internet Explorer 9.

The spot, 'A More Beautiful Web Is...,' takes viewers through a colorful variety of web-based adventures. Through Micrsoft's Bing search engine, the ad suggests, you can explore nature and space, create art, watch high-definition video and play games. The ad closes with some positive press for the browser and a scroll through popular social networking and streaming sites.

Directed by Keith Rivers, the video is cut expertly to the propulsive beat of 'Too Close' by Alex Clare, a singer-songwriter from London.  Although Clare's debut album, 'The Lateness of the Hour,' was released last summer on Island Records, he's been known to the British tabloids for quite a while due to his tempestuous 2006 relationship with Amy Winehouse.

The two met while he was working as a chef in one of the late singer's favorite pubs and she had temporarily split with her future husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Winehouse was reportedly worried that Clare would disclose details of their personal life in his work. By a dark coincidence, 'The Lateness of the Hour' was released only 12 days before Winehouse's death on July 23, 2011.
