Nate Ruess Performs ‘Nothing Without Love’ On ‘Fallon’
While fun. are on extended hiatus, lead singer Nate Ruess is rolling ahead with his own musical endeavors. His full-length solo debut, Grand Romantic, is set for release on June 16 and he's already begun the promotional campaign. Last night (May 12), he made a stop on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform the album's lead single, "Nothing Without Love." Watch the performance above.
In a backstage clip (which you can check out below), Ruess said he wrote the song in the shower. "That's usually where good songs come," he said. "I just started singing it: 'I'm nothing without love,' and that felt really, really great... I sang it into my phone and marked it, 'This is the one.'" He also said, "It's honestly, probably my favorite song that I've ever written."
