Fans of ‘The Tudors’ and ‘Downton Abbey’ can look forward to an upcoming series by the same producer titled ‘Dracula.’ Starring Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the show focuses on an American entrepreneur who claims to want to bring modern science to a Victorian city – but his real motives are much darker, as he seeks revenge on those who wronged him in the past. ‘Dracula’ is set to premiere on NBC this fall, and its trailer features the haunting tune ‘The City’ by Brooklyn-based duo Exitmusic.

Don’t be deceived by the song’s relatively quiet beginning. Over time, it builds to a startling crescendo, making it a perfect fit for the gripping two-and-a-half minute promo (watch below).

Exitmusic is a husband and wife team comprising singer/actress Aleksa Palladino and Devon Church, and the track appears on their 2012 album, ‘Passage.’ In a review last spring, Pitchfork called the disc “audacious and ambitious, twisting lyrics about depravity and loneliness into shared anthems meant for overcoming both.” NME wrote that the “opening title-track and ‘The City’ flicker like lit candles, before burning bright at their core of ruinous drums and Palladino’s femme fatale vocal.”

You may have seen Exitmusic at the Crossing Brooklyn Ferry festival back in April, where they performed alongside the likes of the Roots, TV on the Radio, Solange and Here We Go Magic.
