Nirvana and Friends Played a Secret Show in Brooklyn Last Night
The surviving members of Nirvana were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night at Brooklyn's Barclay's Center. If that wasn't enough, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear headed over to a tiny local bar called Saint Vitus to play an intimate, invite-only gig in front of 200 very lucky people after the big event.
According to Noisey, Joan Jett and St. Vincent's Annie Clark -- both of whom performed with Nirvana at the Rock Hall ceremony -- joined them onstage at the club. You can watch their performances -- Jett played 'Smells Like Teen Spirit,' St. Vincent did 'Heart-Shaped Box' -- above and below, respectively.
Other guest appearances throughout the show included Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon (who also performed at the Rock Hall induction), J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. and Deer Tick's John McCauley. The set list from the show, which we've posted below, covered highlights from pretty much the band's entire catalog.
