In what seemed like stars were aligning in Amsterdam over the weekend, mega rock stars Eddie Vedder and Tom Petty were on stage together to perform two of the latter's songs. Watch fan footage of the Pearl Jam leader join Petty and his Heartbreakers on 'The Waiting' and 'American Girl' below.

As Loudwire shares, both Pearl Jam and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers headlined consecutive nights at the Isle of Wight Festival in England this past weekend. It's possible that the Vedder guest spot was first brought up during their time at the event. The grunge pioneer took lead on 'The Waiting' at Petty's June 24 concert at the Heineken Music Hall, with Petty covering backing vocals and the bridge. They also shared vocal duties on the closing track 'American Girl.'

Third Man Records head honcho Jack White was also in the crowd during the show on Sunday, but sadly he didn't join the other two to make music lovers' dreams come true. White was in Amsterdam last night (June 25) for his own show at the Heineken Music Hall. Pearl Jam remained in town for a two-night stint at the Ziggo Dome that concludes tonight. They will continue to tour throughout Europe before returning to the United States for a few festival appearances in September.
