Phish will follow up last year's four-night New Year's Eve stand at New York City's Madison Square Garden with another four-night stand leading up to the arrival of 2013. The gigs mark the third year in a row that the legendary jam band will rock MSG to mark the holiday.

Phish's 2012-13 run will span Dec. 28-31, and tickets to the gigs go on sale Oct. 20 at noon ET. Any tickets left over on Oct. 22 may be purchased through the venue's box office starting at 9 AM ET.

"It's not the ball drop, but for tens of thousands of people, Phish's annual run of shows at Madison Square Garden [that's] the more significant year-end event in Manhattan," read a New York Times review of a Phish gig during last year's MSG run. Phish have played the venue an astounding 23 times since their first gig there in December of 1994.

Tickets for each concert will include a free MP3 download -- which can be redeemed via LivePhish.com soon after the band steps off stage -- of the entire gig prepared from a fully mixed soundboard recording.
