PJ Harvey Shares Charging New Song ‘The Community of Hope’
PJ Harvey has shared “The Community of Hope,” a second cut off her upcoming album The Hope Six Demolition Project.
The English singer-songwriter premiered her forthcoming full-length’s lead track on Shaun Keaveny’s BBC Radio 6 Music show. You can listen right here by skipping ahead to the 51:00 mark. It’s a propulsive, deceptively upbeat number that almost masks Harvey’s scathing indictment of corporate greed and expansion and the communities abandoned in its wake. (“They’re going to build a Walmart here,” Harvey sings.) That’s the single artwork at the bottom of the page.
The Hope Six Demoliton Project -- which Harvey recorded during sessions open to the public last summer -- is due out April 15 via Island. She’s already shared lead single “The Wheel.”
