Since their formation in 2011, Dublin rockers Radio Room have grown significantly in Ireland’s indie rock scene. Their impact has spread well beyond the Emerald Isle and the quartet has amassed a burgeoning fan base all over Europe. This year marks the release of Radio Room's debut full-length, '92 || 93,' and today (Feb.2), Diffuser is excited to bring you a taste of what’s to come with the premiere of ‘About You.’ Take the new track for a spin in the audio player below.

Ensuring they make an enormous splash with their debut LP, Radio Room partnered with Steve Albini, the world renowned producer who worked with artists like Nirvana, the Pixies and Helmet, for the new LP. In March 2014, Radio Room packed their bags and headed to Chicago to record in Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios.

The result is an album done completely live-to-tape; no click tracks, no computer editing, no fancy plug-ins. Inside Electrical Audio, four Irish musicians were sweating and bleeding rock and roll day in and day out.

“When we wrote ‘About You,’ it was our first attempt at embracing a more stripped-back sound,” frontman Robbie Murphy explains to us. “Lyrically, it’s about not being afraid of letting go of something that you know deep down is bad for you to allow something good to take its place in your life.”

Murphy also tells us what it was like collaborating with Albini. “Working with Steve was an amazing experience -- we grew so much as musicians and people while in his studio,” he recalls. “The guy is full of wisdom and, despite being an absolute workhorse, made plenty of time to talk to us outside recording hours. We came out of the sessions more fixated on how much we should enjoy the record instead of worrying about anyone else."

'92 || 93' is slated for a spring 2015 release -- stay tuned for more details on Radio Room's debut. In the meantime, you can keep track of everything happening in their world at their official Facebook page.
