Rostam Batmanglij has debuted his first new music since announcing his departure from Vampire Weekend.

In the same vein as his first solo track of 2016, “EOS,” the newly minted “Gravity Don’t Pull Me” is a soaring pop dreamscape complete with glitchy beats, while Rostam sings of broken hearts and guilt. Batmanglij announced his exit from Vampire Weekend in January. “I’m no longer a member of VW but… Ezra [Koenig] and I will continue to collaborate on future projects + future VW songs,” he wrote. “My identity as a songwriter + producer, I realized, needs to stand on its own.”

Vampire Weekened released their most recent full-length Modern Vampires in the City in 2013. He’s since worked with Charli XCX, the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser, Carly Rae Jepsen, Ra Ra Riot and Santigold.
