Ryan Adams Honors ‘Summer of ‘69’ Request 13 Years Later at Nashville Concert
Last night (April 28), during the second and final show of a two-night run at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Ryan Adams finally silenced every single fan who has ever made the Bryan Adams-Ryan Adams joke -- including one particularly infamous heckler at that very venue.
As the story goes, an understandably irate Adams threw out a concertgoer for repeatedly shouting out a request for Bryan Adams’ 1984 classic, "Summer of ’69," during a show at the Ryman back in 2002. Wherever that lone heckler was yesterday night, Adams offered both him and the Ryman a kind of redemption when he closed out the show with a stripped-down, earnest rendition of the Bryan Adams tune. Watch it for yourself in the fan-shot footage above.
While we can’t promise he’ll treat you to any Bryan Adams covers, you can catch Adams live during his current tour, which will take him to Louisville tomorrow (April 30). His scheduled North American dates will culminate at this year’s Governors Ball in New York City on June 5-6. Get more details on Adams’ website.
Adams recently announced he will re-release his 2000 solo debut, Heartbreaker, on May 26 on his own Pax-Am label.
