Sam Amidon released his most recent long-player, Lily-O, last year via Nonesuch Records, a disarmingly beautiful collection of “recomposed folk songs” -- as described by the singer himself. Now, the Vermont-hailing artist has unveiled a gorgeous music video for “Blue Mountains” fitting of the song and Amidon’s latest full-length.

Directed by filmmaker and photographer Andrea Sisson, the clip captures actress and model Alex Noiret in the varying lush and mountainous landscapes of Ojai, Calif., where the video was filmed. Amidon also makes a couple of cameos throughout -- check it out above.

“I met Sam several years ago on a New Year’s Eve in Iceland at Greenhouse Studios, amongst vodka, lamb and wild discussions,” Sisson recounts in a press release. “I found Sam on some steps in a corner, reading a book of poetry to a group of my friends, other musicians and artists. When we reconnected in Los Angeles five years later and he asked me to do this piece with him, I thought back to that night and immediately said ‘yes.’”

Lily-O followed Amidon’s 2013 album, Bright Sunny South. The singer-songwriter is currently on a European tour with Sharon Van Etten, but he will make his way stateside on May 29 for a two-night residency in Brooklyn. Then, he has North American stops scheduled through the end of July, including an appearance at the inaugural Eaux Claires festival in Wisconsin. Check out a complete list of dates on Amidon’s website.
