Skies Alive, ‘The Black List’ – Free MP3 Download

Skies Alive is part of the post-hardcore, post-emo scene springing out of Minnesota in the latter half of the 2000s. Today we get a free download of the epic track 'The Black List' from their 'Til I Die' EP.

In their early days, Skies Alive toured with Plain White T's and joined the Warped Tour. Specializing a hard-hitting sound that hangs on singer Andrew Poitras' soaring tenor, the band has developed a more nuanced sound lately, as is evidenced on 'The Black List.'

"'The Blacklist' was the final track that we completed for the 'Til I Die' EP," singer Andrew Poitras tells Diffuser.fm. "It's by far the most morose and thoughtful track on the EP and sees us treading more ambient, ballad-esque waters -- a territory we'd not before tested. It felt good to branch out and show our darker side."

In a time when most of the cool kids on the block are leaning toward more minimal, electronic sounds, sometimes it's refreshing to hear a band strap on some guitars, crank up the volume and let it rip. Grab 'The Black List' below.
