Guitarist James Iha hadn't performed with Smashing Pumpkins since the original lineup broke up in 2000, but it's time to reset that timer. Frontman Billy Corgan surprised the crowd during the Pumpkins' concert Saturday (March 26) at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.

It was Iha's 48th birthday and he reunited with his former bandmates Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin to play a series of songs from the band's 1993 mainstream breakthrough, Siamese Dream. Together they performed "Mayonaise," "Soma," "Rocket," "Today," "Disarm," "Spaceboy" and "Whir" from the band's 1994 B-sides collection, Pisces Iscariot. Former Pumpkins bassist D'arcy Wretky, however, was not present.
