Spoon know that their fans want something new now. So, in recognition of our lack of patience, the band decided to initiate what they're calling a Vinyl Gratification program. What that boils down to is that pre-ordering Spoon's new album, 'They Want My Soul,' from select record stores earns you a free 10-inch vinyl.

The free EP includes the songs 'Rent I Pay,' 'Inside Out' and 'Do You' from the album, which comes out on Aug. 5. The band is giving away the EP to encourage fans to visit record stores and live through a more traditional music-buying experience.

Frontman Britt Daniel explained the reason behind this program to Salon. "I feel like the record labels and the record stores themselves could stand a break and yet nobody’s giving it to them," he said. "It just seemed like a cool spin on the idea of these instant gratification things that are such a big deal these days."

Spoon enlisted the help of Christoffer Castor, who made an infamous used Volvo ad that went viral, to make a commercial explaining the simple idea behind their 'Vinyl Gratification' program. Check it out below.
