Swervedriver Perform on ‘Jimmy Fallon’ to Start U.S. Tour
U.K. indie veterans Swervedriver performed a new song titled 'Deep Wound' on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' last night, and we've got the video below.
The Oxford band, who came up in the same shoegaze shuffle that produced Radiohead and My Bloody Valentine, reunited in 2008 after a nearly decade-long hiatus. The "shoegaze" label never quite fit the band's sound, which has always been more driving and heavy than their sorrow-wallowing contemporaries -- guitarist Adam Franklin prefers the genre title "space travel rock 'n' roll." That'll do just right.
The band's riff-loaded catalog is back to being available, with 2005 retrospective 'Juggernaut Rides' providing an overview of space travel rock, and 2009 reissues of albums 'Ride' and 'Mezcal Head' still hit hard. Catch the guys while you can on this short tour.
