The Good Life Will Release Their First Album in Eight Years This August
The Good Life -- the Omaha, Neb.-based outfit helmed by Cursive frontman Tim Kasher -- have announced they will release their first album in eight years. The band will drop Everybody’s Coming Down on Aug. 14 via their longtime label, Saddle Creek Records.
Ahead of Everybody’s Coming Down’s arrival, the indie-rock quartet -- Kasher, Stefanie Drootin, Ryan Fox and Roger Lewis -- have shared “Everybody.” Take a listen below and check out the complete tracklist at the bottom of the page:
According to a press release, the album “poses cosmic queries, contemplates regrets, questions self-worth and examines the possibility of living in the moment, when memories are all that we truly take with us” -- a conceit that doesn’t sound all that out of align with the Good Life’s previous albums, including their most recent full-length, 2007’s Help Wanted Nights.
Everybody’s Coming Down was recorded at Omaha’s ARC Studios with the help of engineer and producer Ben Brodin (Bright Eyes, Pete Yorn) and it was mixed by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Okkervil River).
Along with the new album, the Good Life also announced a corresponding set of tour dates, which kick off on Aug. 15 in their Omaha stomping grounds. From there, they’ll make 14 more stops in the U.S., culminating in Iowa City on Sept. 6. Check out a full list of dates below.
