Lately, there have been a number of rumors circulating about a possible reunion of progressive rockers the Mars Volta, who broke up at the start of 2013 due to founding member Omar Rodríguez-López stepping aside to focus on his new project, Bosnian Rainbows.

Speculation of a reunion came about when the band's co-founder and former frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala's current project, Antemasque, canceled their upcoming European tour.

Last night (June 10), Bixler-Zavala took to Twitter to expel any rumors of a reunion. He stated that the reason for cancelation was to focus on the next two Antemasque records, as well as a new solo record under Zavalaz. You can check out his comments below:

During their reign as a band, the Mars Volta released six studio albums, two of which reached gold status in the United States.
