The Soft Moon Enlist Robert Roster to Star in Music Video for ‘Wasting’

Following the release of their latest album, Deeper, the Soft Moon have dropped a brand new music video for their single, "Wasting." Check it out above.

Directed by Y2K, the visual stars Academy Award-nominated actor Robert Forster (Jackie Brown, Mulholland Dr., The Descendants) as an evil doctor who puts frontman Luis Vasquez and model Natalia Selevanova under some kind of lab experiment complete with flashing lights, syringes and blindfolds.

"The Doctor, played by Robert Forster, represents an archetypal summation of the turmoil and torture raging within the character of The Patient, played by Luis [Vasquez, of the Soft Moon]," the director said in a statement. "The Doctor guides The Patient and his fellow Subject [Natalia Selevanova] on a hypnagogic journey into the interior landscape of the mind, a world fraught with tumultuous stroboscopic activity and unbalanced flashes of a brewing violence."

Meanwhile, Vasquez said (via Pitchfork) that the song was "written in Berlin during a dark period in my life at a time where I felt lost, not knowing whether to continue or give up. The song represents allowing oneself to let life take its course whether the experiences may be bad or good."

Deeper hit storeshelves on March 31 via Charted Tracks. The Oakland, Calif.-based band is on the road and will be touring the U.S. -- as well as Europe -- for the next few months. Check out their full tour itinerary below:
