Over the weekend, Jack White's "non-genre specific vinyl record label and imagination station," Third Man Records, celebrated the life of musician Isaiah 'Ikey' Owens. Owens was White's keyboardist as well as a longtime member of the Mars Volta, and passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on the morning of Oct. 14.

As Third Man explains, "friends, family and colleagues of Ikey Owens gathered ... to celebrate a life well lived. We toasted to Ikey with his cocktail-of-choice (fernet and ginger ale) and swapped stories about Ikey's talent, sense of humor, and misadventures from the road, all while listening to Ikey absolutely destroy the ivories in his recordings with the Mars Volta and the Free Moral Agents."

Owens partnered with White prior to touring in support of his solo debut, ‘Blunderbuss,’ and contributed to this year’s massive follow-up, ‘Lazaretto.’ While the photo above is taken from the Ikey Owens Memorial Wall in Long Beach, check out some shots from celebration in Nashville, courtesy of Third Man:
