Rumors had been swirling that Radiohead wrote a theme song for the most recent James Bond flick, Spectre, but that gig obviously went to Sam Smith instead. But as a Christmas gift to fans, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke tweeted a link to a song called "Spectre" and cleared the air – well, as much as Yorke ever does.

“Last year we were asked to write a tune for Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were ………..” he wrote. “… It didn’t work out … but became something of our own which we love very much ….As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you …”
