Thurston Moore Reunites With Sonic Youth Drummer, Enlists My Bloody Valentine Bassist for New Supergroup
Although Sonic Youth are on hiatus following the divorce of singer-guitarist Thurston Moore and singer-bassist Kim Gordon, Moore is still apparently on good enough terms with his old drummer Steve Shelley to invite him to play in his new band.
According to the website of a venue in Amsterdam where Moore is set to perform on Aug. 19, the Thurston Moore Band features Shelley, My Bloody Valentine bassist Debbie Googe and U.K. singer-songwriter James Sedwards.
The band will be touring in support of Moore's upcoming solo album, 'The Best Day,' expected to be released in September. Check out the new track, 'Detonation,' below:
