Conrad Keely has released nine albums with his band, … And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, over the course of their 20-year tenure. After two decades with the Austin-based alt-rockers, Keely is ready to strike out on his own.

Keely will drop his solo debut, Original Machines, on Jan. 22 via Superball Music. The singer-songwriter split writing of the album between his travels in his adopted home country of Cambodia and while on tour with Trail of the Dead, ultimately recording the LP in Montreal. Today (Nov. 12), he’s shared a preview of his labors, premiering the forthcoming album’s lead single, “In Words of a Not So Famous Man.” Take a listen in the video at the top of the page.

So far, he only has four solo dates in the works, and they will all take place in England. He’ll play a show in Leicester on Nov. 14, Milton Keynes on Nov. 15, Devizes on Nov. 16 and London on Nov. 17. See more details below.

Keely and his Trail of Dead bandmates released their most recent full-length, IX, almost a year ago to the day.
