Like their fellow Nashville garage-rock brethren JEFF the Brotherhood, Turbo Fruits grew out of the mid-2000s teenage punk phenomenon Be Your Own Pet. Guitarist Jonas Stein started the band while still playing in Be Your Own Pet, and the band went on to release its own irresistible brand of melodic fuzz rock after the Pet members went their separate ways.

Today, we get a free download of 'Harley Dollar Bill$' from their forthcoming record 'Butter,' out next month on Fat Possum.

Turbo Fruits are real rock 'n' roll dudes. You can smell the beer-tinged leather and feel the texture of denim that never gets washed when you listen to their songs. Their site says their new album 'Butter,' produced by Jim Eno of Spoon, "is the product of 200 days a year in the van, sleeping on floors, accumulating the kind of stories you would never, ever tell your grandkids."

But for all that, you'll find more fun here than angst. And some love. "Harley Dollar Bill$' is an ode to my motorcycle," singer/ guitarist Jonas Stein tells Diffuser.fm. 'When all hell breaks loose in my world and I feel overwhelmed, I ride away on my bike for a few hours... It's my form of Xanax. ... And cocaine."

'Harley Dollar Bill$' is that perfect blend of passion and slackerism that can only be the sound of a love song from a man to his bike. Grab it below, and watch out for 'Butter,' out on Sept. 11 on Fat Possum.
