This summer, U2 are honoring the 30th anniversary of their 1987 blockbuster The Joshua Tree with a world tour where they're performing the album in its entirety. We've created this page to track how their set lists evolve from night-to-night.

We'll be updating this page with each change to note which older songs they've chosen to bring out, and how much of the forthcoming Songs of Experience they're previewing. The first night, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, closed with the world premiere of "The Little Things That You Give Away." And we’ll include videos under each set list so you can see and hear the results. Check it all out below.

  • U2 Pays Tribute to Leonard Cohen

While performing "Bad" in Toronto, U2 honored one of that city's most famous musical sons, Leonard Cohen, who passed away last year. Bono introduced the song by saying, “Tonight we hold onto some things, as you let go of others. I’m not quite sure how to let it go, but I know tonight I’m holding onto the music of Leonard Cohen, thinking about it today. It’s been on my mind. He’s an addiction I’m not ready to give up, so I’m going to sing this one to Leonard Cohen.”

During the breakdown, he added, ”Just think. Think of Leonard. He called us friends. Really, we were just fans. That was okay by me. A fan of Leonard Cohen. Stay with me. That’s beautiful. Stars coming out for Leonard. Different part of the country, but you know he loved this city. Stay with me now. I want to try something.”

He then sang "Suzanne" as the audience held up their phones, and referenced another Cohen song by saying "Hallelujah." NME said that Bono later told the story of when he spoke to Cohen on his 80th birthday. "I asked him, ‘Leonard, what do you want to do on your 80th? Have you made any plans?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, I want to smoke a cigarette.’ [I said] ‘But you’d given up cigarettes for 27 years,’ [and he said] ‘I’m just going to have one.’ We could all be so lucky to live a life like that.”

"Bad" was cut from the opening, as was the typical closer of either "I WIll Follow" or "The Little Things That Give You Away." But the biggest change was in the encore, where "Miss Sarajevo" was axed in favor of "Vertigo," which made its tour debut.
