Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig Faces Triumph the Insult Comic Dog
Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig will make a brief appearance on a forthcoming episode of Adult Swim's The Jack and Triumph Show – which features 30 Rock actor Jack McBrayer and mean-spirited hand puppet Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Koenig’s bit has now surfaced online in a video.
Triumph takes a few punches at Koenig’s mom and Vampire Weekend’s songs, but the real diss comes when McBrayer cheerfully reveals that he originally met Koenig at the “2011 Men Who Look Like Boys Convention” – ouch. The Vampire Weekend singer rather despondently and matter-of-factly responds, “That was unnecessarily cruel.”

The New York City indie rockers have been relatively quiet since they dropped their third full-length, Modern Vampires of the City, back in 2013, however, Koenig recently interviewed erstwhile Yeah Yeah Yeahs leader Karen O for GQ, discussing everything from selfies to the sudden release of D’Angelo’s Black Messiah.
