Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday (March 16) to play her latest single titled "Depreston." You can watch the the performance below.

Before the camera shifted to Barnett, DeGeneres introduced the artist with nothing but admiration, saying, "Our next guest is one of my favorite new artists. I love her so much." The single appears on Barnett's latest album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, which is due out on March 24 via Mom + Pop Records. It will serve as the follow-up to her well-received 2013 release, The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas.

Barnett recorded the album with her band last fall at Head Gap Studio in Melbourne and she claims it touches on themes related to just about everything she's been through. "My songs follow me as a normal human with normal emotions. So there are great highs and great lows," says Barnett. "They span everything in my life."

Barnett is is schedule to appear during SXSW at a few showcases we're particularly excited about. She'll take the stage at Cedar Street Courtyard this Thursday (March 19) and at Stubb's on Friday (March 20).
