Watch Ewan McGregor Cover ‘Heroes’ at David Bowie Tribute Concert
A star-studded group of musicians and actors that included Ewan McGregor and Gary Oldman gathered at the Roxy in L.A. last night (Feb. 8) to remember the late David Bowie.
Billboard reports musician Angelo Bundini curated the “Celebrating David Bowie” charity concert, and it brought McGregor, Oldman, Seal and more to the stage to pay their respects in fitting covers. For McGregor’s part, the Scottish actor delivered his take on “Heroes.” McGregor is already somewhat acquainted with the material, as he also performed a bit of the song in Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 musical Moulin Rouge!
Elsewhere, Oldman sang “The Man Who Sold the World” and appeared as backup on a number of other songs throughout the night. Longtime Bowie keyboardist Mike Garson performed a moving rendition of “Aladdin Sane.” He was later joined by Seal for Reality track “Bring Me the Disco King.” Check out videos and photos from the concert below:
