On Sept. 22, the Music Maker Relief Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a massive double-CD release, featuring music from Beverly "Guitar" Watkins, Cootie Stark, John Lee Zeigler, Etta Baker and many, many more. The purpose of the compilation? 'We Are the Music Makers: Preserving the Soul of America's Music' serves to showcase the work the Foundation has done over the past two decades, preserving the "musical traditions of the South by directly supporting the musicians who make it."

Ahead of next week, Diffuser is excited to partner with the Foundation to give you a chance to hear the music before it's released. Stream the 44 tracks in the audio player below:

The double-CD release coincides with the upcoming 20th anniversary celebration for the Foundation on Oct. 3-4. It will be the largest gathering of Music Maker artists to date, and will feature performances by Big Ron Hunter, Boo Hanks, Captain Luke, Ironing Board Sam and dozens more. You can get details on all of the special events surrounding the celebration here.
