Depeche Mode went with a ballad as the first single off their forthcoming thirteenth studio album, and now they're showing off a different side of 'Delta Machine.' 'Soothe My Soul,' the disc's second single, is decidedly more up-tempo than 'Heaven,' with pounding beats, rhythmic pulses and throbbing electronics creating a sinister backdrop for Dave Gahan's typically foreboding words. Depeche Mode, who are currently in Austin, sat down for a SXSW Q&A session on Wednesday and are slated to perform there tonight (March 15) at a showcase that must rival Prince's upcoming extravaganza as one of the festival's hardest to get into. 'Delta Machine' drops March 26.
