Skrillex to Ride the Rails for 2012 Summer Tour With Diplo, Grimes
Trains, raves, and Canada: while those three things may not seem interconnected, they’re about to be in union, as Skrillex, Grimes, and Diplo plan to travel across the Great White North with a six-stop Canadian tour in July 2012 — check the dates below.
Skrillex, whom your mom probably even knows about by now, is continuing to expand on the tour game. You may remember last year when the temple-shaved dude threw so-called “Takeover” shows in tiny New York and Los Angeles clubs — how do you top that? By riding on a train across Canada with your buddies Grime, Diplo and others.
Called the Full Flex Express Tour, the soon-to-come string of electronic mayhem harkens back to the Festival Express tours of the ’70s, when the Grateful Dead, the Band, and other maniacs rode the rails across Canada. While the music is slightly different — Skrillex smashes like a cyborg gorilla, the Dead danced like a butterfly –the result is the same: tons of goofed-out Canadians dancing through the night.
