311 Get ‘Down’ on New York’s Waterfront – Exclusive Concert Photos
Beer, food, New York City’s waterfront and 311 -- that’s what a crowd of lucky New Yorkers experienced over the weekend. With support by Passafire, alt-rockers 311 partied on the JBL Live music stage at Pier 97 in Hudson River Park.
311 kicked off their set with fan favorite ‘Beautiful Disaster,’ and things heated up from there. Hips shook and bodies bounced as the band covered songs from its extensive catalog, including ‘All Mixed Up,’ ‘Come Original,’ ‘Amber,’ ‘Feels So Good’ and ‘Down.’
But they also played some new songs -- ‘Showdown,’ ‘Sand Dollars,’ ‘Revelations of the Year’ and ‘Tranquility’ -- from their recently released 11th album, ‘Stereolithic,’ with the encore reserved for ‘Friday Afternoon’ (performed on a warm a Saturday night) and ‘Creatures (For a While).’
The Georgia-based Passafire, who also infuse reggae rhythms into their music, provided a groovy melodic set to start off the show. Check out our exclusive photos of 311 and Passafire performing in New York City.
