Beach House Announce Details of Upcoming LP ‘Depression Cherry’ + Tour Dates
Indie pop outfit Beach House have announced the details of their upcoming fifth studio LP, Depression Cherry, the cover art of which you can view below. They've also announced an extensive North American tour in support of the release, kicking off Aug. 18 in Portland, Maine.
The new nine-track record, which was produced and recorded by the band and Chris Coady at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, La., sees the band returning to a more simplistic approach according to a press release. It's reportedly way less dramatic with "live drums playing a far lesser role" than its predecessor, 2012's Bloom.
Depression Cherry is due out on Aug. 28 via Sub Pop and will be made available in digital, CD and vinyl versions. It will also be made available in Europe via Bella Union and in Australia and New Zealand via Mistletone. The LP, as well as CD versions, will come encased with a red velvet sleeve. Clear vinyl special "Loser Edition" LPs are available while supplies last. You can currently pre-order the record via the Sub Pop Mega Mart.
