After a whirlwind 2014 which saw the release of Beauty and Ruin, his highly-acclaimed return-to-form album, Bob Mould has announced his plans for this year. The former Husker Du leader is taking to the road for a solo electric tour where he will present what he is calling "works in progress" to fans.

The Works in Progress tour is a short but sweet outing, kicking off Sept. 23 at the Sinclair in Boston. The seven-date run will include stops in New York, Nashville and Chicago (among a few other cities), wrapping up on Oct. 11. The performances will feature "new songs and old favorites" and will all take place in intimate venues. Mould's longtime bass player, Jason Narducy, will open all dates.

Beauty and Ruin, released on the Merge label, debuted in the U.S. Top 40. In support of the album, Mould and company hit the road last year including stops on Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman and Conan.
