At the end of February, Brandon Flowers officially announced that he would drop his second solo effort, The Desired Effect, this May. Now, the erstwhile Killers frontman says he will release the forthcoming LP’s lead single, “Can’t Deny My Love,” later this month. Flowers previewed the song with a short trailer you can watch above.

The 17-second clip doesn’t give fans much insight into the track itself, but the mysterious, cinematic quality could be a sign of a very cool music video to come. We’ll just have to wait until March 23 when “Can’t Deny My Love” arrives to find out. Flowers also unveiled artwork for the single; take a look below:

Flowers is working on The Desired Effect – which is due out May 18 – with producer Ariel Rechtshaid. The singer-songwriter says the collaboration has led him in new, exciting artistic directions.

“I’m letting Ariel take over every now and then,” Flowers said. “That’s led to some really exciting things and sounds I would never have used.”

The Desired Effect follows Flowers’ debut solo effort, 2010’s Flamingo. Flowers band, the Killers, are currently on a hiatus; they put out their most recent full-length, Battle Born, in 2012.
