Dawes’ New Video Features Cameos by Conor Oberst, Brandon Flowers, M. Ward + More
Dawes have shared a music video for “All Your Favorite Bands,” a track from their latest album of the same name. For the Kevin Hayes-directed clip, the band crowdsourced clips from all their favorite acts (and musician friends).
Brandon Flowers, My Morning Jacket, M. Ward, Johnathan Rice and Gillian Welch all make cameos in the new video, lip-syncing Dawes’ latest single. The whole thing concludes with frontman Taylor Goldsmith leading a children’s choir in a singalong of the tune. Check it out above (via Pitchfork).
Goldsmith had to say about the new video:
This is really a video made by our friends. All we told everyone is that we wanted some footage of them singing our song. All of their different settings and situations were completely their ideas. We had no idea what to expect. But we really love how it came together, and for us, it really seems to suggest the musical family we feel lucky enough to have been a part of over the last six years.
Dawes have also launched a collaborative “All Your Favorite Bands” Spotify playlist, which allows fans to add songs to the mix. Check that out at the band’s website.
Tonight (Sept. 22), Dawes' tour takes them to Boston. From there, they have U.S. dates scheduled through the beginning of October. They return for a second leg in the states in December. Check out a complete list of stops right here.
