Cloud Nothings are whetting fans' appetites for the band's upcoming Life Without Sound LP with the release of a new video for first single "Modern Act." And they've also announced a two-month tour beginning in 2017 to promote it.

The video, which you can check out via the above embed, premieres courtesy of the A.V. Club — along with the first dates scheduled in support of the album, due in stores Jan. 27. As with each of the group's previous releases, Life Without Sound represents an evolution the Cloud Nothings' approach to composition and production.

"Generally, it seems like my work has been about finding my place in the world. But there was a point in which I realized that you can be missing something important in your life, a part you didn’t realize you were missing until it’s there — hence the title," explained frontman Dylan Baldi in a press release. "This record is like my version of new age music. It’s supposed to be inspiring."

Fans can also expect a more outward-looking sound from the band on the new LP. "In general, I think more people are becoming aware of how to treat the world, so I’m just falling in line," Baldi explained recently. "You want to be more of a global, useful citizen. We’re taking a more outward view with this record, but it’s still through an internal filter. It’s about bigger things than me complaining — in my mind, at least."

The group have two more shows in 2016 on their calendar, but will embark on a full tour the day before Life Without Sound arrives. You can see the dates below and get full information on their website.
