It's beginning to look more and more like Smashing Pumpkins are aligning for a return to their classic lineup.

Band leader Billy Corgan said he'd like to "find peace" with guitarist James Iha and bassist D'arcy Wretzky and hinted he'd be open to a reunion. Iha has already joined Smashing Pumpkins onstage twice this year: once in Los Angeles (video below) and again in Chicago. Now Wretzky has made things more intriguing.

Wretzky told BlastEcho she's been asked to rejoin the band four times since Corgan fired her in 1999 and she'd "consider going back" if it feels right. “Circumstances would have to be a certain way,” she said. “It’s much too complicated.” She said she and Corgan haven't spoken in nearly 20 years, but she does keep in touch with Iha, and called his reunion with Corgan "really healthy."

While Wretzky has remained largely out of the public spotlight (she said she "never really believed in fame"), Wretzky said she's kicked all drugs except for her ADHD medication and is healthier now than she's ever been.

She also revealed she hasn't followed Smashing Pumpkins since she left. "I don’t have time really. People tell me stuff, but I don’t have time.” Still, she expresses nostalgia for her time with the band. "Over the course of 12 years jamming with people who just clicked, you could just do it forever and ever and ever,” she said. “For me that doesn’t happen very often and I really miss that.”
