It’s been about a week since the Foo Fighters made their triumphant return to the stage after Dave Grohl broke his leg during a concert in Sweden a few weeks earlier, but there are still plenty of opportunities to revel in Grohl’s quick rebound.

A new video captures Grohl playing a pretty impressive guitar solo on the throne he had designed (while under the foggy influence of painkillers) for the beginning of the band’s North American tour. What’s more, it shows Grohl using his cast to perform part of the solo -- that can be seen right around the 1:15 mark in the fan-shot video at the top of the page. At the conclusion of the song, Grohl admits, “That’s the first time I’ve ever done that, a cast solo.”

Grohl first unveiled his elaborate throne at the Foos’ 20th anniversary concert in D.C. on July 4, their first show following the frontman’s injury.

Previously, the band was forced to cancel a handful of European dates, including their headlining slot on this year’s Glastonbury festival. However, their North American tour is moving forward according to plan, with their next stop scheduled for tomorrow (July 11) in Quebec City. From there, they’ll make stops in Camden, N.J.; New York City; and Boston before heading overseas. They return to the U.S. on Aug. 14 when they’ll play Mumford and Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road Stopover in Walla Walla, Wash. The tour wraps up on Oct. 18 in California.
