The Decemberists released their seventh studio album, 'What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World,' today (Jan. 20), and with a feat only accomplished by true music gods, Colin Meloy and company have been given one of the highest honors from the city of Portland, Oregon: Today is officially 'Decemberists Day.'

Charlie Hales, the current mayor of Portland, will present the band with a signed proclamation at City Hall during a ceremony to take place at 2PM PT. The band will be performing at the free event, and will unveil a collaborative art piece inspired by the album -- created by 50 local small businesses and artists.

The band will be heading out on an extensive tour in support of the album, kicking off in February in Europe before circling back to the U.S. You can check out all of their upcoming tour dates here.
