Watch the Decemberists Perform Two Songs on ‘CBS This Morning’
The Decemberists graced our television screens over the weekend (April 18) as they performed on CBS This Morning's Saturday Sessions. The Portland, Ore.-based rockers played two tracks from their latest album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. You can watch lead single "Make You Better" up above and the light jam, "The Wrong Year," below.
CBS This Morning delivered a reputable introduction for the Decemberists, giving a shoutout to the band's breakout 2002 debut album, Castaways and Cutouts, and calling them "refreshed."
The Colin Meloy-fronted band announced back in February that it would be adding more tour dates in support of the new disc, kicking off in May; you can check out the Decemberists' full itinerary here.
During our recent interview with Meloy, the singer-songwriter commented about the new record, "I think in some ways there is a lot of me in it. The King Is Dead is similarly personal. I think it’s a portrait of myself and my interests and fascinations over the course of five years or whatever."
