EL VY -- the collaborative duo comprised of the National frontman Matt Berninger and Menomena’s Brent Knopf -- were the musical guest on last night’s (Jan. 11) episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and in the wake of David Bowie’s death, they danced the world's collective blues during a fitting tribute to the late, great artist.

First, Berninger, Knopf and company delivered the title track from their newly minted debut Return to the Moon, which arrived back in October. Then, they stuck around for their rendition of “Let’s Dance,” for which they were joined by Jon Baptiste and Colbert’s house band Stay Human while photos of Bowie screened in the background. See both performances in the videos at the bottom of the page.

Bowie died on Sunday after an 18-month battle with cancer and only two days after releasing his final album Blackstar. He was 69 years old.
