A Google+ Hangout will be the location for what is being billed as the world's first "digital album signing" today (Oct. 8) at 3PM EST. The event will star British star Ellie Goulding, whose new album, 'Halcyon,' came out today in the United Kingdom and will be released tomorrow in the States.

In the Hangout, fans will be able to post questions to Goulding and purchase "signed" digital copies of 'Halcyon.' The signed albums will be posted on fans' Google+ pages. Technology is an incredible thing.

To participate, you need to pre-register and install the Hangout plug-in. You must also fill out a form that certifies that Goulding is a member of your Google+ circle. A limited number of people will be allowed in the Hangout.

'Halcyon' is Goulding's second album. Her 2010 debut, 'Lights,' went platinum last year on the strength of the title track, which has been downloaded more than 3 million times. The video for 'I Know You Care' features scenes from the film 'Now is Good,' starring Dakota Fanning and Jeremy Irvine.
