Explosions in the Sky may be preparing for a summer of instrumental goodness on the road, but when they catch a break in the schedule they've got something to take their mind off support of the 'Take Care, Take Care, Take Care' album.

Guitarist Munah Rayani tells Consequence of Sound that after their latest batch of shows wraps in August, they'll enter the studio to score music for the upcoming David Gordon Green comedy 'Prince Avalanche.' The film is a remake of the Icelandic comedy 'Either Way' and stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch.

Rayani says, "We will be scoring [David Gordon Green's] latest film 'Prince Avalanche.' This particular picture is going to be exceptionally beautiful in that we're making it with friends of ours." One of those friends is Ola Podrida, who had created music for Green in the past.

Explosions in the Sky have a history with film work, working on 'Friday Night Lights' and teaming with Green in the past to provide music for his films 'All the Real Girls' and 'Snow Angels.'

But before the scoring can begin, there's more touring to be done. The band resumes support of 'Take Care, Take Care, Take Care' on June 17 in Houston.
